King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has kicked off a major campaign to secure a place among the Skytrax Top 100 Airports for 2026, aiming to strengthen its global standing after an impressive 24th-place finish in 2025—the highest rank ever achieved by a Saudi airport.
Operated by Riyadh Airports Company, the airport’s push for recognition reflects ongoing efforts to cement its role as a leading international hub, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals to transform Saudi Arabia into a global aviation and logistics powerhouse.
In the 2025 Skytrax Awards, King Khalid Airport secured top regional and international honors, including first place for Best Airport Staff in the Middle East and third place worldwide for Best New Terminal for its state-of-the-art Terminal 1. It also ranked fourth in the Middle East and among airports worldwide handling 30–40 million passengers annually.
Skytrax, headquartered in the United Kingdom, evaluates airports and airlines globally based on extensive passenger surveys that measure service quality and traveler experience.
To elevate its performance further, Riyadh Airports has implemented a series of development initiatives aimed at improving operations, efficiency, and passenger services.
The airport also celebrated major achievements in 2025, including global leadership in on-time performance for multiple months, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium, and becoming the first airport in Saudi Arabia to earn the ACI Transformation Level Carbon Accreditation for sustainability excellence.
