Passengers travelling through Jersey Airport will experience some short-term changes as major improvement works begin on the facility’s departure lounge.
Ports of Jersey (POJ) assured travellers that flights and check-in services would operate as usual during the project. The redevelopment forms part of POJ’s decade-long investment strategy, aimed at modernising airport infrastructure and enhancing the experience for all passengers arriving on or leaving the island.
Sarah-Louise Stubbs, Head of Terminal Operations, said staff had worked extensively to minimise disruption and keep essential services easy to access. “We’ve introduced clear signage throughout the terminal, and extra team members are available to help guide passengers,” she explained. “This project is a substantial investment in both Jersey Airport’s future and the first and last impressions we create for travellers.”
During the work, a new temporary walkway will connect passengers to the departure lounge, with additional seating areas provided while the refurbishment progresses.
POJ said the current stage of construction is expected to conclude by summer 2026. The fully upgraded departure lounge should open to the public by summer 2027, with the following phase of improvements scheduled for completion in spring that same year.
