Qatar has introduced new enhancements to its Hayya GCC Residents Visa (A2), making travel smoother and more flexible for visitors from across the Gulf. The update—announced by Qatar Tourism, the Ministry of Interior, and the Permanent Committee for Managing Visitor Entry—aims to support the country’s growing calendar of international sporting, cultural, and entertainment events.
Effective 30 November 2025, GCC residents will be able to stay in Qatar for up to two months and benefit from multiple-entry privileges, allowing travellers to move in and out of the country with ease throughout the season.
The timing aligns with Qatar’s preparations for major regional events, including the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup, as well as a series of cultural festivals, exhibitions, and tourism-driven experiences expected to draw significant visitor numbers.
Officials say the upgraded visa features are part of a wider strategy to streamline the visitor experience across all entry points. Through the Hayya Platform—Qatar’s central digital gateway for e-visas and event access—travellers can expect a simplified process designed to enhance operational readiness during peak periods.
Saeed Al Kuwari, Director of Hayya, highlighted the broader impact of the changes, noting that they reflect Qatar Tourism’s ambitions to boost regional connectivity, increase arrivals, and strengthen the sector’s contribution to the national economy.
“These measures go beyond simple procedural changes,” he said. “They reinforce Qatar’s position as a leading regional destination for tourism and international events.”
Operated by Qatar Tourism, the Hayya platform continues to serve as Qatar’s all-in-one digital entry system, offering integrated visa processing and event access through a user-friendly interface.
The Hayya system currently supports five visa categories:
- Tourist Visa (A1)
- GCC Resident Visa (A2)
- Visa with ETA (A3)
- Companion of GCC Citizen Visa (A4)
- Visa-Free for US Citizens (F1)
With these new enhancements, Qatar aims to welcome more GCC-based travellers, offering them easier access to world-class events while strengthening the nation’s tourism profile on the global stage.
