In the wake of airspace closures due to Iranian missile and drone attacks, UAE airports have begun a limited resumption of flights, but authorities are urging travelers not to head to the airport without confirmation from their airlines.
On Monday, authorities and airlines started operating special flights to help stranded passengers depart. However, both Dubai Airports and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) emphasized that passengers should not travel to the airport unless they’ve received direct confirmation from their airline.
Dubai Airports urged travelers to check with their carriers for the latest updates and to avoid heading to the airport unless their departure time has been confirmed. "We urge you not to come to the airport unless your airline has contacted you with a confirmed departure time," the airport said in a statement.
The GCAA has announced the resumption of exceptional flight operations at UAE airports, allowing passengers to depart according to schedules communicated by airlines. They stressed that travelers should not proceed to the airport until they have received confirmation to avoid congestion and ensure smooth processing.
Limited flight operations resumed in Dubai on the evening of March 2. Flights are being allowed from both Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). In Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Airports also resumed partial operations at Zayed International Airport (AUH), coordinating with relevant authorities and airline partners. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines before traveling.
While limited flights have resumed, both Emirates and Etihad Airways are operating with restrictions. Etihad Airways confirmed that while some flights have restarted, all scheduled commercial services remain canceled. Emirates also began operating a small number of flights, prioritizing customers with earlier bookings.
flydubai announced similar limited operations starting the evening of March 2, advising customers to update their contact details and check their flight status before heading to the airport.
Authorities have thanked passengers for their cooperation, emphasizing the importance of adhering to official instructions to maintain smooth airport operations as services gradually resume.
