Saudi Arabia recorded more than 11.2 million Umrah pilgrims during the fourth quarter of 2025, according to newly released figures from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
The data shows that a total of 11,291,326 people performed Umrah during the period. Of these, 5,701,525 arrived from outside the Kingdom, while 5,589,801 performed the pilgrimage from within Saudi Arabia.
Men made up 6.4 million of the total pilgrims, accounting for 56.8 percent, while women represented 4.9 million, or 43.2 percent.
Among those performing Umrah domestically, non-Saudis formed the majority at 53.2 percent, compared with 46.8 percent Saudi citizens. The report also indicated that repeated participation remained limited, with only 2.9 percent performing Umrah more than once during the quarter.
At the regional level, the Makkah Region accounted for 2,002,701 domestic pilgrims, while the Riyadh Region contributed 1,146,451.
Gender patterns differed among international pilgrims, where women slightly outnumbered men, making up 53 percent of arrivals from abroad.
Monthly figures showed varying peaks in activity. December recorded the highest number of international pilgrims at 2,142,252, while domestic pilgrimage peaked in November with 2,059,838 participants.
Air travel remained the dominant entry route for overseas pilgrims, with 4,976,861 arriving by air, representing the vast majority of international arrivals.
Age distribution data revealed that pilgrims aged 55 to 64 constituted the largest share of international visitors at 18.9 percent. Among domestic pilgrims, the 25 to 34 age group represented the highest proportion at 26.6 percent.
Beyond Makkah, a total of 5,722,584 people visited Madinah during the quarter, including 3,846,284 international visitors.
