In a landmark move to simplify travel and foster stronger bilateral exchanges, Saudi Arabia and India have signed a visa waiver agreement that exempts holders of diplomatic, special, and official passports from both countries from short-stay visa requirements. This agreement is expected to facilitate official travel and enhance cooperation between the two nations.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh by Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Suhel Ajaz Khan, and Abdulmajeed bin Rashed Alsmari, Deputy Minister for Protocol Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
Ambassador Khan highlighted the significance of the deal, noting that it would enhance official travel and deepen exchanges under the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council. This agreement marks a significant step forward in diplomatic relations, easing the movement of government officials, diplomats, and special envoys between the two countries.
With this development, the two countries are set to strengthen cooperation across various sectors, further solidifying the strategic partnership that has been growing steadily. The agreement aims to streamline the travel process for officials and diplomats, reflecting the increasing trust and collaboration between Saudi Arabia and India.
